Fed: Costello caught in the culture of work and play

CANBERRA, Feb 27 AAP - Federal Treasurer Peter Costello has started a new culture war
with his push to have Australians work longer.
This not a culture war like the arguments over Aboriginal history, which excites some
but washes over most people.
It is the culture of employment and retirement, of the time to work and the time to
take it easy. It touches everyone.
Early reaction suggests it's also a dangerous pool of expectation and assumption for
Mr Costello to plunge into.
