WHAT? TMA31 is the thirty-first in the series of TMA (Telecommunications Managers Association) Annual Conventions. This is the premier data, voice and image communications Exhibition and Conference in the UK.

WHEN? TMA31 dates are 5 to 7 October 1998.

WHERE? TMA31 takes place in Brighton, across three main sites - Brighton Conference Centre, the Grand and Metropole Hotels.

FOR WHOM? TMA31 visitors will include telecoms, networks, and IS professionals; board level and senior departmental management; corporate business strategists and analysts.

TMA31 EXHIBITION This is the biggest annual event of its kind in Europe. Based on attendances in recent years, the 15,000 square metres of expo presentations are likely to attract 20,000 visitors.

Coverage by 400 exhibiting companies extends from fixed to mobile networks, from cable to satellite communications, from Internet and intranet to VPNs, from multimedia to electronic business, from broadband to bridges and routers, from video conferencing to digital broadcast/telecoms convergence, from call centres to global communications, from intelligent networks to mobile telephony.

EXHIBITION SPECIAL FEATURES TMA31 special 'editorial' features include 'Communications Skills Fair', SME Pavilion, Integrated Voice and Data Pavilion and Discovery Pavilion, (showing examples of latest research projects from top education establishments).

Exhibitors presentations, Exhibition special features and Conference content will be linked in a series of Virtual Shows within TMA31. Information on these is detailed in ten Virtual Show guides which address key technology areas of professional interest and are distributed in advance for effective visit planning. This year the Virtual Show guides will spotlight: 'ATM and VPN's', 'Call Centres', 'Fixed Communications', 'Innovations', 'Internet & Electronic Trading,' 'Mobile Communications', 'Multimedia', 'Networking', 'Voice & Data Integration', and 'Trade/Distribution Channels'.

TMA31 CONFERENCE The premier UK conference for communications technologies providers and users. Up to 900 delegates will attend.

On Day One of the TMA31 Conference the focus is upon issues and opportunities faced by organisations selling products and services in the telecoms and IT marketplace. Delegates from UK and other European countries will represent PTTs, OEMs, systems integrators, VARs, dealers, and consultancies. Themes of the two half day conference segments are 'Dynamics of the Telecoms Marketplace' and 'Minimising Risk and Maximising Loyalty'.

Days Two and Three will concentrate on the strategic needs of the business user community and will be divided into four half-day segments: 'Visions of the New Millennium', 'Collaborative Networking', The Global Information Society', and 'The Information Hallway'. Each segment is comprised of plenary sessions only.

TMA31 Conference is chaired in Question Time style interactive format by Carol Thatcher (Day One), Sir David Frost (Days Two and Three).
